Welcome
Welcome to the course Handler of phytosanitary products. Bridge course, with which you will acquire and share knowledge about the main enemies of our crops (pests, diseases and weeds), the methods to control them, the types of pesticides, their dangers in the environment and people, the machinery to apply and the PPE to be used
Professional Competences
The completion of this course will help you to achieve the following professional competencies:
Royal Decree 1311/2012, of 14 September, which establishes the framework for action to achieve a sustainable use of phytosanitary products, establishes the training requirements for professional users and sellers, including four levels of training:
Qualified level: aimed at personnel responsible for calculating the dosage, preparation, mixing and/or application of land treatments, being natural persons who carry out treatments for third parties, or who belong to treatment companies, and farmers who carry out treatments on their own farm using auxiliary personnel and using phytosanitary products that are not nor generate toxic, very toxic or deadly gases. They shall also be issued to personnel directly involved in transactions involving plant protection products for professional use. Minimum duration 60 hours
The possession of a professional user card is obligatory in Spain in the cases indicated by law according to the type of treatment to be carried out and the personnel who carry it out
Thus, according to Royal Decree 1311/2012 of 14 September, only holders of a card accrediting training in this respect may be supplied with phytosanitary products for professional use. Therefore “the sellers of the distribution of PFs for professional use must be in possession of the corresponding card to exercise as such”. One of the reasons why this sector is included is to provide initial advice to buyers on the type of product purchased, how to use it and the risks of its application
The holders of the cards will be registered in the Provincial Register of Pesticide Establishments and Services
